What is Celtuide?
Celtuide is a prescription medication used for the management of type 2 diabetes in adults. It helps improve blood sugar control when used alongside a balanced diet and regular physical activity. Celtuide contains semaglutide, which belongs to a class of medicines called GLP-1 receptor agonists that help regulate blood sugar levels.

Celtuide works by mimicking the effects of a natural hormone called GLP-1. It helps stimulate insulin release when blood sugar levels rise, reduces the amount of glucose produced by the liver, and slows digestion. These actions help lower blood sugar levels and improve overall glycemic control.

Celtuide is intended for adults with type 2 diabetes who need help managing their blood sugar levels. It is typically prescribed together with diet, exercise, and sometimes other diabetes medications. Your healthcare provider will determine whether Celtuide is suitable for your treatment plan.

Celtuide is administered as a subcutaneous injection (under the skin) using a prefilled injection pen. The injection can be given in areas such as the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Patients should follow the instructions provided by their healthcare professional when using the injection pen.

Celtuide is designed to be taken once weekly. It should be taken on the same day each week, exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, to maintain consistent blood sugar control.

If you miss a dose of Celtuide, take the missed dose as soon as possible within 5 days of the scheduled dose. If more than 5 days have passed, skip the missed dose and take your next dose on the regularly scheduled day.

Like all medicines, Celtuide may cause side effects. Common side effects may include:

  • Nausea

  • Vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Constipation

  • Abdominal discomfort

These side effects are usually mild to moderate and may decrease over time as your body adjusts to the medication.

Celtuide may not be suitable for everyone. It should not be used by people who:

  • Have type 1 diabetes

  • Are allergic to semaglutide or any of the ingredients in Celtuide

  • Have a history of severe hypersensitivity reactions to similar medications

Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any new medication.

Unused Celtuide pens should be stored in a refrigerator between C and C. Once in use, the pen may be kept at room temperature below 30°C or refrigerated according to the product instructions. Do not freeze the medication and keep it away from heat and direct light.
